IVF
Overview
IVF, short for in vitro fertilization, is a well-known form of assisted reproductive technology (ART) that aids in the process of fertilization, embryo development, and implantation. The procedure involves a combination of medications and surgical techniques to facilitate the fertilization of an egg by sperm and the subsequent implantation of the fertilized egg in the uterus. To begin, you will be prescribed medication that stimulates the maturation of multiple eggs in your body, preparing them for fertilization. The eggs are then retrieved from your body and combined with sperm in a laboratory setting, enhancing the chances of successful fertilization. Following this, one or more fertilized eggs, known as embryos, are transferred directly into your uterus. The possibility of pregnancy arises if any of the embryos successfully implants in the uterine lining The process of IVF consists of multiple steps and typically spans several months to complete. While some individuals may achieve pregnancy after the first attempt, many require multiple rounds of IVF to increase their chances. It is important to note that while IVF can significantly improve the likelihood of pregnancy for those experiencing fertility issues, it is not a guaranteed solution. Each person's body is unique, and IVF may not be effective for everyone.
